Day 6     Liapades to Agios Georgios       13km

We had enjoyed our rest day at Liapades but as evening approached dark clouds began to gather and at 8pm we received automated storm warnings over our phones.  These warned against travel for the next 24 hours.  All that night thunder crashed and rain lashed and when we went down for breakfast, ready for today's walk,  it was still pouring.

Our host at the Cricketers warned us not to walk, "Very dangerous", and we reluctantly decided to wait and see if the weather improved as the morning progressed.  By late morning the lightning was still flashing and the rain seemed relentless. We made the decision to travel to Agios Georgios with our luggage.

Later in the day the rain stopped and we decided to leave our hotel room in Agios Georgios to walk back along what should have been today's route.  The paths had been turned to mud which clung to our boots and after a couple of hours we had enough.

Agios Georgios  is quite a large resort and we had a choice of many restaurants for our evening meal.  Eventually we settled on one and enjoyed an excellent dinner, providing a pleasant end to a wasted day.
